Next new item. The dinosaur that changed the way we looked at dinosaurs:

Deinonychus antirrhopus, 1/72

I tried to give him a Panther-look with some coloured spots in red and blue. I hope You like it.

Truly magnificent sculptures. I think these dinos are worth buying as little works of art!

Happy new year!!

Back again with finished masters for Coelophysis and Velociraptor. Protoceratops and Stegosaurus are nearly finished. Protoceratops is still in work.

Coelophysis pulls an eye from a shortly passed by young Placerias and Velociraptor prepares to jump.

And the finished master of Placerias gigas - a late triassic Dicynodont.

cheers!
Alex

Gracias!
@Carlos: In case of the colors I mostly refer to recent animals. Colors for dinosaurs are only "known" for some small dinos. Evidences were found by chemical analysis of the fossilized feathers.

References to me were for example:
Caudipteryx: a sea bird
Chalicotherium: Tapir
Conchoraptor: Jackal
Corythosaurus: Zebra
Gallimimus: Ostrich
Jaobaria: Giraffe
Triceratops: Bontebok
Tyrannosaurus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsi2oTOUzWs
The sculptor Mr. Krentz was also involved in making cgi for a documentary. That skull-face was my reference.

For the rest I tried to paint it not freaky.

And Kelenken, the terrorbird from Argentinia, is painted like a recent cariámidos (Seriemas).

cheers alex

I knew that the colors of the dinosaurs were difficult to decipher and the colors you chose for the figures are very good and look great, you made a very good choice of colors.
abouth the kelenken I think I see with my son the peak of one of these big birds in a museum in the south. We have a kind of jurasik park here in patagonia and in the northwest, I think in this country we have more and better paleontological muesums then history museum :( ...I do not know much about dinosaurs but I have seen bones from really impressive dinosaurs, juts a 10 blocks of my house lives a "gigantosaurus", terrifc animal, I think he could eat a person just in one bit.

Now it becomes nasty: Coelophysis has the eye of a Placerias....in its hands.

Freshly finished and now it can be ordered.

Nasty, in fact, but also very original - one of those things that have no been done yet in 1/72. I like it!

This is a very interesting thread for me. I was fascinated by the prehistory already as a child. Unfortunately one does not pursue all interests if one gets older and found a family and begins with work life.

Well, this is a pity, but you can't have everything. Luckily there is this forum in its incredible width. So i can see many creatures from a distant past and to make comparisons with the fauna of today. Better than before! I like your work very much. :-D

Arsinoitherium zitteli, 1/72. Its a 3d-printed (Shapeways, FUD) model from Manuel Bejarano.

The eyes could be sculpted/printed a bit more prominent. So they are hardly to find to paint.

Overall its a good model. I painted it in hippo-style.

Lets go on!

Europasaurus holgeri, 1/72, GN Models (Shapeways, WSF)

Image

The WSF-material sucks every detail. It can't be recommended.

Ceratosaurus nasicornis, 1/72,Manuel Bejarano (Shapeways, FUD)
Its once again a very nice model. (paint scheme reference: Panther)

Image

Amargasaurus cazaui, 1/72, Andrew Sides (Shapeways, FUD)
(paint scheme reference: Sable antelope)
