Certainly not my finest, but I'm fine with it. It looks good on my shelf :)

Terrific work... Elephant is realistically painted, base looks very natural and dragon is amazing. I can only note that "tower" looks somewhat plastic

Could be because of the flash...and I did not use enough highlights.

Hi guys... what I would try to do is paint some squares in different shades (well, I'm not sure whether those "towers" were made of real stone or what), then I would apply some black wash and finally some drybrushing with 2 lighter shades of grey. I think that would "kill" that glossy appearance.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be smartass :-D... this is just my 5 cents ;-)

AFAIK they were made out of wood, and then covered with sth to look like stone :) But the different color sounds good, once when I had to paint a well with brimstones, I used 2-3 different shades of grey (none of them contained any sexual intercourses, much to my surprise). I don't know if I'd try washes and drybrush at this stage :) Sprayed with plastidip, and matt varnished.

Why not paint a tear in the cloth?

eg glue a triangle of paper onto the side of the tower & paint a corresponding triangle black to simulate the hole left in the material.

I really like the shading on the elephant's hide.

Great work, and that is not only because I love elephants.
About the tower I do not agree with the comments made. It is a wood planks tower and it should look like it, not like a stone construction. So I think that the stone engraving done by Zvezda is wrong, also the painting in different colors does not seem correct to me. I do not think that the Carthaginians would take the trouble to decorate the tower in different colors in wartime.
Not counting the stone engraving, I think that the main problem with the tower, that makes it look like a toy and not the real thing, is the huge gap between the different parts of the tower. You should use some bitumen to eliminate these construction joints.
For me the best and easiest way would be to build a cardboard tower, paint it a uniform grey and then draw the fake mortar joints in black. I’ve done that some time ago and it looks good to me. I cannot send the photos now but I will do it at the first opportunity.
Regards
Mário

Sorry, Zirrian. I wasn't being uncomplimentary. I think your "Nellie" looks grand.
