French Infantry - Italeri Conversions

Posted by Rosbif on 23 Jul 2013, 06:42

Here's the latest unit I've painted in my French IV Corps for Borodino. This time I've used Italeri set 6092 and chopped off the ridiculous heads and replaced them with heads from spare figures from HaT set 8095 as well as a couple of metal heads from Lancier Bleu, namely the bonnet de police wearing voltiguer and the marching figure with the bandaged head.

Another fantastic set of figures from you, I look forward to seeing your figures well done and keep them coming.

OMG - i have both sets and i considered doing the exact same thing but in the end i thought it would be too much trouble and i was crazy to even consider it. That's one of the reasons i love this forum - my obsession with the details of my toy soldiers fells normal when i see others who share my obession!

Great work - i might have to reconsider the effort. If only italeri used the same sculptor for the french infantry as the one for the french dragoons and hussars...
