Chinese Junk with crew 1/72

Posted by JiTi on 23 Nov 2012, 17:06

Kit “Jonque“ 1/60 HELLER (originally IMAI)
Figures “Boxer Rebellion“ 1/72 ORION
Rigging AMATI
Wooden pulleys

Hi all!
This is my first attempt here on this Forum. Return to model-making after many years and the first finished in this summer (from “x” in process...).
Yes - I know, this is a figure-forum, not a ship. However, I support theory, that any model without figures is like without living, only figures breathe them life. Therefore somewhere in my heart I feel, that I belong here and hope you accept it.
My vision is a little "raw" patina than is probably normal. It is a vision of dirty boat blackened by wetness, smoke – so it is the intention. The model is done with a few minor changes and modifications (whole'd dated to about 1550).
A little sorry for the very shallow depth of focus. I'm not a fan of flash, so this is then the consequence.
Thanks in advance for all your opinions, ideas and comments.
JiTi

Welcome JiTi

You say the ship is 1/60 (normally to big for this forum ;-) ) but it looks more as 1/72, because it fits wonderfull with the figures. And you did some good conversions on the figures!

Excellent first topic

Peter
Right, the original manufacturer scale model 1/60 is nonsense (as it unfortunately quite often), but I wanted to introduce it because of the completeness of the data. The fact is, I think about 1/75, but for figures 1/72 I think it is OK, so I said the whole model 1/72 - figures-scale is to me decisive.

Simo,
Base is acrylic paint, I use MODEL-MASTER - Randome Tan.
Oil paint on it directly from the tube and then wiping cloth, I use UMTON - Van Dycke Brown, Raw Umber, Cassel Earth.
