British Infantry 2nd Boer War

Posted by despertaferro on 05 Mar 2012, 13:28

Hi friends,

Strelets figures let nobody indifferent. Or you liked or you hated. Not being a fan myself, I own nearly all their releases (I'm sure you know that collector feeling :-D ).

To be honest, I must say that I wasn't very excited about painting this figures. But I couldn't let my Boers inside their drawer without an enemy to face them!

Here you have men from Argyll & Sutherland line regiment, from a rifle regiment (hence the black webbing) and command. To be more accurate for that period, the Argyll's should wear a khaki apron covering the front of their kilts and the sporran. And during the war, the sun helmet was soon replaced by an slouch hat, so these figures are appropriate just for the early years of the war.

Most of figures are Strelets with some Waterloo 1815, Red Box and Hat.

Thanks for looking

A good work with the RedBox und Strelets Miniatures. The Miniatures are from the quality not so good, but with your painting....

Great painting - truly awful figures. I know that at least one Highland regiment ended up with the nickname " the Poison Dwarves" (HLI if my memory serves me correctly) but these are ridiculous!

+1 Very nice!

Ja es nota que no en tenies ganes de pintar-les, que hi ha alguna figura de Strelets que tenen tanta rebava que pareixen de 2 dimensions  / I notice too you weren't eager to paint those figs, there's some of the strelets figs which got so much flash what make them look 2D

Salut!

I would have to agree related to Strelets. Love/Hate. Most of the time I have found that they do have a strong character once painted. Yours trully represent this point of view. Very nice work on the painting and the basing.
