AZW : a demo game at our local show

The Zulus start to gather....we had 820 Zulu figures on the board

Image

British needed to clear the ford & advance, intact, to the plateau to win.

Image

1000s of them....

Image

British were pinned after their initial moves as Zulus erupted out of a donga

Image

The kraal. Extra points if the British burned it (never got within a stone's throw, however)

Image

A dreaded donga. Hidden movement meant the Zulus could be anywhere.

Image

Ultimate British success was from tightly co-ordinated movement with mutually supporting fire.

Image

And many Zulus entered too far from the action to make a difference

Image

A bayonet, some guts behind it & a lot of hard work

This was our annual project (Daniel, Mal & Glen & me). We used a modified version of The Sword & the Flame rules and easily finished the game in two days.

cheers, donald

That looks pretty massive. Mostly Hat and ESCI?

Yes, HaT & Esci but some ACTA & quite a few metals (20%?): Hinton Hunt & Newline.

Very impressive layout and great looking figures. I`m not into gaming myself, but I appreciate the work and effort involved with producing work like this. Well done to all concerned and great to see it posted on this Forum. BB
