French vs. Russians

Posted by Rosbif on 11 Dec 2013, 01:20

In a game based on the southern flank of the Borodino battlefield, I fought a battle at our club with a lot of the figures I've been painting up over the last year. I took the part the Poles played in the real battle with only a selection of the figures I've been painting for IV Corps.

The aim was to dislodge the Russians from their position so that the southern flank of the whole army would would become exposed. I first had to clear the village in the centre, then attack the Russian position. Clearing the village was a bruising affair, but I managed it. After a careless mistake caused some rough handling by Cossacks, I massed for an attack on the Russian's left wing, but before I could launch it, the Russians had broken my left! :angry3: :angry1:

Looks like you had a good time, your figures look even more impressive when set up on mass like this.

Thanks for the share, the figures are impressive to see all together :-) at the end of hostilities I hope that all of figures went for a drink. :occasion:

Thanks all! :-D

@Donald - They're mostly Hat 8146 figures with head mods using either Lancier Bleu heads or heads from the old Italeri set 6002 which aren't mush use for anything else! 8)

The officer and eagle bearer are metal Kennington/SHQ figures
