Broadside, Donnybrook-Teviot's Last Stand

Posted by yar68 on 13 Jun 2016, 21:21

I finally got to show off all my Donnybrook figures (well not all of them?).
The Rejects game was at the Broadside Show in Sittingbourne. We played a great game set in Tangiers in 1664. Teviot's Last Stand…

Thanks for sharing the pics with us. Looks like a lot of fun. I wonder when I finally find the time to paint my Donnybrook models

Dear Yar68,

Thanks for posting these pics and its historical background.
This game looks very exciting to me.
The landscape looks effective and balanced: the neutral quiet tone of field and hill leaves much attention to what the game is about: the figures. Very nice figures altogether. Are they painted for this battle and campaign or just a gathering from different gamers for this single game?
Finally the supporting text tells us about a part of British colonial history I have never heard of.

Out numbered and outgunned that`s the Brits & Irish for you, always up to their necks in trouble with shot whistling past their ears.Very enjoyable Epic Scale Game.
A Great Success too Ray,in arranging such an historical rumble. BB

The English were painted up for this particular battle, but, the Queens regt, fought in many battles during the period, 1664-1697. So I'll be using them for Sedgemoor skirmishes in 1685, also for the Boyne campaign, in Ireland 1689-90. And for the Nine Years War fighting the French in Flanders. Most of the Moors were painted years ago for my El Cid and the Reconquista games using WAB!! But now they're Moroccans!
