Here is the 37th duel folks!

The rules this time were
1. Fight scene from "Kingdom of heaven", with at least two bods and up to as many as wanted.
2.Three weeks from start of duel to posting photos.
3. 2-3 photos
4. Not necessary to use valdemar figures at all, conversions etc allowed
5. Winner to be judged on closeness/similarity to film
(not just two crusaders and a bunch of arabs fighting in any place) and the painting
6. Basing and backgrounds as wished, no real importance.
.

The winner becomes a Valdemar figure from Jens.
In this Duel 5 members would Duel, but unfortunately only 2 have made it on time!

You have a week to choose your winner. Once again gentlemen take your places and may the best painter win.
Please leave comments after the duel has finished

A fine duel, but a shame so many would be in it and they didn't.
The making of a Kingdom Of Heaven scene was a good idea.
So the two members who fight this duel went for the price from Valdemar.
A shame for Paul he didn't make it, because the scene from Peter was the winner.
Both of you, well done, and Peter wins his first duel (now there will be more)
Congratulations.

First a big SORRY. I have also announced to be in. But I was not able to finish something looking similar to the film. So big respects for you two. Paul got my vote this time for making a scene looking exactly like the film. But Peter´s siege scene is also very impressive. Congratulations!

This was as far as I´m concerned one of the best duels yet. The voting was balanced until the very end. Pity it wasn´t better attended, not just in competitors but in voters as well.
Congratulations Peter, you deserved it, loads more work than me   I can´t wait to see live it at Kampen :-)

I'm sorry, I couldn't vote because I've never seen the film. But both entries looked very good to me.

Need to begin with an apology as indeed my two would-be rivals have done up above. No long list of excuses........i was simply afraid to sleep at night for a week thinking i was gonna get spanked to death ;-) Seriously though gents the truth is i simply didn't have the figures available that i thought i had when i entered. Enough whining from me and on to the competition.

Congratulations to the two of you noblemen who were good to your word and both produced fine entries indeed. I also voted for Paul 'cos i thought it was clearly a fight from the movie - and maybe as such was nearer to what i would have done if i'd been able to put together the scene i had had in mind! Nonetheless Peter's scene was undoubtedly the most impressive with a tremendous amount of work going into it. My hat is raised to you both and next time i'll have my entry already complete before i throw down the gauntlet

Thank you for the nice comments and the votes  First of all I would like to say that this was my third duel and not my first ;-)

About the scene, you can say that Pauls one is closer to the movie as mine. Very recognizeble. I choosed for the siege tower, because of:

1. It was lying around here
2. I could make a movie, starting with a closed tower and ending with an attack from it. Just like a real moviemaker ;-)
3. It was my intention to impress you all with what I could make in four weeks :-D It worked

The "Siege tower" is of Zvezda of course. It took me one week to paint and build it. The wall took the same time. Build out of styrofoam. There are 21 figures and 1 horse on it. 19 and the horse from Italeri and two Valdemar figures, one on both sides.

My last words are for Paul. It was a great duel mate and you also diserved to win this one; So for me we are both winners

PS: I'll post some more pictures later ;-)

Hey Paul this could be one of the reasons the voting wasn't that high. We should have thought about that. Some-one who hasn't seen the movie can't decide if it's a scene out of it or not :?

Thanks Mark and Sus

The amount of votes is only 3 or 4 less than average, but still 10+ less than in a comp vote and a lot less than the voting for a nude women.
Mind you, what male wouldn´t vote for a nice pair of;

They look really good mate. Maybe like me you find Medievals more "fun"?
But one thing. No matter how you try, the seige tower won´t be able to get the bods over the garden fence. It would need to be at least 1.80 m high

Does making a man a knight make him a better fighter??
No, but the pay and conditions are a hell of a lot better. :-)
