And again a great duel comes to a end.
It was funny that they both had the same tittle :-D
The winner is Chen, congratulations on a fine work of art,
he was up against the man who paints more than anyone i know: Paul.
Also a nice and interesting entry, well done
To the both of you: a deserved applause!

the face on the grave stone represents the poor dead guys soul coming from his feet and going into the gravestone ie grave/death.
the whole dio is supposed to represent transformation, the grass amongst the grave stones (still partly in the chaos of war and therefore not completely in line yet with the others at peace in the background) covers the mud of war and blends into the neat lawns behind. A basic brown wooden cross (right of dio and not very visible) is also part of the transformation thing.
Don´t ask me where that all came from :-)
Cheers Chen for a great duel, it really got me thinking and out of my "normal space" and thanks to all who voted for either of us..

Two great entries made it hard to choose, flipped a coin.

Thank you mates. This was really fun. Thanks and congratulations to Paul too for his nice job. I do find a magic-realiste ambiance in your vignette. Very original!

In this one I voted for orginality, so Paul my vote was yours. But I must admit that is was a hard one. I liked that entry of Chen to. But with the title in mind, I've made my choice ;-)

Good duel

Congrats to both....though I liked Chens painting work more I think Pauls work has more of the sadness of WW1 in it. So I voted for it.
