He's an Úlfhéðinn, which translates a 'wolf-skin' or 'bearer of wolf-skin' a special kind of warrior, much like the Berserker and dedicated to Wodan (= Odin with the Scandinavians). The term úlfhéðinn is mentioned in several of the sagas, several Roman authors mention úlfhéðinn-like warriors and there are several objects with in wolf-skin covered warriors armed with spears (Wodan's preferred weapon).

Nice job on the wolf skin Maurice. It looks very realistic.

Very good duel, but the names gave a good guess who the duelists were. :-D And that wolfskin got me voting!

Great duel. But for me it was also the wolfskin and the shield that got my vote. Congratulations Maurice.

Thanks :)

Gotta say though, there isn't much else then the skin and the shield

The figure lacks some serious detail on both left and right, I couldn't even tell where the pants began on the waist.
