Bit of a drubbing wasn't it. Although I must admit that I expected little else.
Not making excuses as without doubt the best man one but I was not happy with my photos.

Maurice you're right he was way too shiny but the figure is not like this in real life. I am looking forward to moving house and getting a garden to take pics in.

Hi Nybot,

I think the problem was not the lack of a garden to take the photos in. I like the background you used very much. I don´t think also your figure is not painted well. The problem is to show the fig in that extension you did. Little bods always loose a lot of their charme when they are shown too big. I had the same problem with my "fridericus rex". The silver decoration on the horse blanket looks very cool when I look at it in it´s real size, but it looked like some randomly made scratches on the photo, for I showed the fig about four times bigger than in real life.

Now I pay more attention to the photo´s size and show the figs not that big anymore.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the tip. My main desire for having an outdoor space to take the pics is being able to use natural light.

I had a strong light poring throw my window when I took these which I think caused the shiny reflections to be picked up by the camera.

You manage to get such natural shades in your photos which is something I am struggling to translate from my figures to the camera.

That said the level of shading you are able to get in your painting is truly amazing And competing against one of the best painters in this forum can only improve me
