Well this was a special duel.
Mr. X was on time, and when I got the other entry I saw another figure...
Hmmm what went wrong, and my computer broke (harddisk crash) so I couldn't see on my excel file...
It was clear Mr. X did send the wrong month, so he had to paint his entry fast.
A job well done, but not strong enoug when I look at the votes.
Mr. X lost this duel, and our first Mr. X Peter did win this one.
2 total different figures, one with color and the other one white, fun to see.
Both thanks for this nice one again, and congratulations Peter.
Mr. X... No worry, still a few months left to win!
And talking about these months, there are still 3 free, so join the fun, we want U!

Congrats to Peter! I really liked his figure, although I voted for Mr. X on the strength of the well-executed shading on the red robes.

But I almost voted for Peter. I preferred the face on his entry, the more likely color of white for the robes, and, most importantly, the cleverly executed theme with the oversized ring.

Thanks Aaron!

What do you mean with "oversized ring"? They had big rings in that time. And my figure is a "Don", so he is rich!

Thanks to all who voted in this duel, it was really fun. I liked the entry of Mr X because he did a real good job on the shading. First I wanted to call my figure "Scarface" but then I saw that little spot on his finger and I decided to paint it as a ring. ;-)

Good luck to Mr X for his next duels!

The ring is oversized compared to the rings worn by most modern folks, and, as I found out thanks to this duel, entirely historically accurate based on some quick research. So good work with that! I love how this forum inspires me to learn something new, every day.

As for Mr. X, he is doing fine work so far, even though he does not have many wins to show for it. Good thing duels are just for fun!

Both figures were on the same top level and the choice hard. I have to confess that the eyes were the only argument to vote for figure 1 - although the eyes were painted quite well here, but I don´t like them in 1/72. It´s strange of course but I couldn´t change my mind....

I like the white tunic and the face of Peters entry, so he got my vote. Interresting duel with a characterful figure.

Great figures...That figure Peter painted remind me on that Senator from Asterix in America, the one that sent Druid Getafix in America...

Another great duel! I also fell for that red robe. But Peter's entry was great also.

Really nice choice of figure. Casting a vote was really hard this time. The ring got my vote, and I didn't find it oversized at all. Yet, I have to commend the red toga of Mr. X: nice paintjob there.

Does this mean you really voted for me with an open mind and not in crazyness?

And yes retirement is a very serious thing! Don't laugh with that!

Both were great entries, but I voted for the ring one, because I liked the traditional senatorial look of this figure better. ;-)

My congratulations for Mr X and Peter.
