And we got a winner... it's Mr. X this month.
He was up against Aaron (Bleufalchion) who did a great job as well.
The duel started a bit strange, because of a mixup with some pictures,
but ended well I can say (24 votes)
Thanks for this duel, and to all who did give there vote here.
Congratulations to both, it was fun again!

Mr. X has a few months left, so have fun and give it a try (it's for fun)

Congrats to Mr. X for (his?) well deserved win. I was excited to see what he would do with this figure because the color choices are at the option of the painter. I also really liked the angle he chose for the photograph, well centered and well lit.

As for my entry, thanks for those who voted for it. I had a great deal of trouble with this project. First was the motivation to do it after many months without painting. I am still required to work but I am stuck home with two young children.

Being rusty was not helpful with this particular figure. I could not get the horse to stick on the cork, nor the rider to stick on the horse. In the end I was simply glad to get something completed, photigraphed, and turned in.

Even if I had done my best, though, I suspect Mr. X would still have triumphed. His bold use of blue and good attention to detail resulted in a really nice entry.

Samurais are allways a tricky thing, if you ask me. So my respect to both of you. Like Aaron said the colours of the first figures and the angle of the pictures which looks very dynamic made it for me.

I am looking forward to see the next duel!

The winning entry is extremely well done and would fare well in any competition I suspect. There are subtleties in the armor of the other samurai that unfortunately don't show well in the picture, lessening the overall appearance of a very fine horse and figure. Congrats to both!

This was another cool duel! I had started thinking of a samurai duel when this showed up. Still a good idea, only problem is I don't know exactly where I have my samurais. :-D

I am with Jan: choice of colours and picture angle got my vote. That really make a great difference; imagine that at first glance I thought they were two different figures. Congrats to both contenders anyway, for you nice brushwork and for cheering us up in these crazy days.
