Manu72 here, sells road pieces that can be perfectly used for that.

Not large, but large enough for the Dutch cycle corps.

Ok, this an update that was due to be posted:

Actually we have some topics dealing with this GB. Here they are:

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=18654

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18786

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18739

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=18692

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=18877

Here is the actual list of participants:

Konrad – Roman Cavalry on reconnaisance (ready)

Eugenij – Medival civilian hunting scene (ready) / TYW

Gunnar - Arn's coming home (Valdemar's set Pilgrims II) / TYW

Marvin - Bicycles WWII / Nappies

Arek (Arekmaximus) – Archers vs. bear (ready)

Mickey Mouse – Operation Market Garden British Paras

Peter – Operation Market Garden 30th Corps

Dalibor - "Dark Future"

Andrea - Ancient traders

Paul - Has got an idea!

Markus (Wheeling Turn) – Thinks about a part of the road

Zed 1 (Sascha) paint something for the time of King Louis

Jan – Prussian Infantry 3th Corps marching to Arnhem 1814
"Red Ball Express" 1944/45 GMC truck and Mps
Netherland Pikemen Dutch – Spanish War

So we have actually 13 participants and 17 parts for the road. I would like to have some more of course and more from different countries. Where are Frenchmen, Ukrainians, Chineses, Spaniard and USA! Hey Kurt or Santi or Chris. Do not hesitate!

More than 14 different countries shoul be so hard. And in Euope we need some more work to stay togehter.

OK,
All the best Jan

This weekend I have recieved the two first parcels for the GB. :yeah:

This is the first from...

Image

Arekmaximus! He did a really great job protecting his diorama for the Road to Arnhem. Here you can see the internal construction. It is really amazing!

Image

And the dio is in good order, you already know this fantastic work

The next entry came from England with a beautyful card presenting the painting "The Girl I left Behind Me"

Image

Image

The parcel contains as well the Dutch cyclists from Marvin with the Beauty and the Dutch soldier going to her to talk a little. With this card the topic of the dio gets another interpretation. Thanks Marvin. I will do my best when building the dio.

Image

So the road is growing step by step, I hope. And if you are still hesitating to join the crowd - you mustn't. be part of it... :yeah: :-D

Glad it arrived safely!

The original painting of "The Girl I left behind me" is in my local museum. Painted by a Victorian artist, the troops wear a peculiar combination of Guards and Line uniform and I'm not sure those drummers are correctly depicted either (shouldn't they wear the same colours as the regimental facings?). Ah, it's the sentiment that counts! ;-)

Well finally I started on my little contribution for this project. As I live on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, and where Operation Market Garden started, I decided to build a small dio about a tank passing that border.

The base is 10 by 10 cm and 4 mm thick.

Image

A checkpoint will be added (picture is boxart! I had some confusion on my blog about that! ;-) )

Image

03211 Revell Sherman Firefly (good old Matchbox reissue! :-D

Image

And some of these 8264 Hat British Tank Riders. Don't know how much of them. That will depend on the time I have left at the end of this small project!

Image

Special thanks to Michael for the figures!

Oh and for this project I started up my blog again. (BLOG)

Hi Jan,and all you others working on stuff to support this group build. I`ve seen the figures first and then the high standard of stylish painting later. All you Guys are doing so well. i`ve sort of been a fly on the wall looking to see whats been going on and silent until now.
That road could come to a stand still if i send left over Corn Flour for use as snow. :-D BB
