Group Builds

WWI 100th Anniversary Group Build: Austrian infantry 1914.

Posted by Kekso on 21 Jan 2014, 13:37

So, more Austrians are coming to group build. I had some other plans for this group build but when I saw figures I'm about to show you I decided to go with it. Why? My country was a part of Austro-hungarian empire. Unfortunately this is in 1/35 scale but other figures that I have are in 1/72. So, if time allows I will start (and finish) that 1/72 figures too.

For this moment I still don't have that figures and I'm listening every day if postman stopped in front of my house. I hope I'll have in next 8-10 days. Until then, here are some photos:

I plan to do small vignette with some mud and puddles of dirty water. It doesn't seems like a trench would fit in this project because of figure poses. They even don't look like they are rushing from trench towards enemy. But we'll see. I don't plan every step ahead.

The figures seem amazing! :-)

Will follow as always with much interest, and have a drink while you wait for the postman. :winky:

So, figures finally arrived. I didn't do much. Just glued together legs and torsos:

There was a lot of mold lines that needed to be removed. In a fact, almost every part has some and that is drawback of this set. On the other hand, figures are nicely sculpted and parts fit well, so I won't use a lot of putty to fill in the gaps.

To my pleasant surprise, I got whole sprue of equipment. This sprue can be bought as separate set but it is also included in this set with figures. Niceeee :-D
