it´s picture (and I´m only ever allowed one anyway :-( ) and writing heavy..and took me a while to set up and type with my "one finger" (oooer madam) method.so here´s the rest of it.

When skirmishing in front of the main body of troops...ie not in a standing firing line, they would carry them on thier backs, so that when they were loading they would turn the shield towards the enemy.
