This one alongside others will be a lot safer from now on.



Cotton Bud stems were fixed tight within each metal slug by way of deep set into place contact glue. Basic info here is thick pva glue used on each part, but left to dry slightly,then both parts were pushed tight together,thus making a fixed into place metal and plastic bond.



It being the case proved over many years of making mistakes that this is, and was afixed strong as a metel weld.
later a dry brush build up of acrylic paint was added in several layers which dried hard as rock.



Pre Covid, quality control i did a sample of simple steps and fixed a cottenbud stem into place... time passed them all by but they stayed stuck hard into place.

So now no mater which way the topsy turvy steps turned all the stems were ready and leapt into action leading to a long awaited for sticking into place success!



i had this for yonks it being a roll of that sticky plastic mesh for plaster board ceiling work! So i used a thin strip woven along the upright finished off posts to provide safty for all who had a shine to scale up the spiral or indeed wind their way downwards to even more dark adventures. For the Library has indeed thousands of them ongoing both in reality and time and space.



Longago crowned with a heavy cast stone such statues have had a great need to take their individual stand upon each and every one.

Yes, thank you donald, We authors who write and create allusion must have health and safty for the little fellows who might well drop in for Tea. Which is known as Dinner for some but to us Brits it's always 'Tea Time' every day wherever we might be. BB

My wife of many years still resists me calling the evening meal "Tea". She is of Italian origin & although a fluent speaker of English, still occasionally uses phrases that are direct translations of her mother-tongue eg she will "open" or "close" the lights.

Language is wonderful & I'm glad that despite globalisation & the internet, it remains quirky.

Thank you Peter, and Chris and all others that have viewed this oddity of the Forum,i realise that there has been so many over the years since i began it.
i am about to finish the trimming up on the last two spiral stairwells bringing it up to completion of the four,but it ain't over yet. BB

A reminder how each card roll was marked out with a sticking line.



To extend upwards to greater climbs. Here is showing how a smaller but wider base can be fitted without any problem.



Just by placing a rolled up spring loaded strip of cut cardboard onto the top will make a very good wide dowel guidance system that does also provide a good sticking point for another column part to be added on.

What one see's upon a first look might not be the end product fully realised.
So please follow along on another time slot added to such a mix as all this.

Ah, no,toilet problems here i just need patients in waiting for my collection of inner rolls to increase. i certenly have a great big heap of inner roles collecting in the hallway under the stairs which are all capped each end by plastic milk bottle tops and i have stacks of cardboard to finish a certain style of eccentricty to each of them.

As for Sir Percy's Library,that huge long term adventure continues with my little plump self printing out Prince Albert style floor tiles. For most surely an invisable Library must have oblong or even square tiles of heavy coloured stone tiles. "Even when there are no actual floors." Mentioned the highly educated Bookworm,who had taken time out from digesting BB,s books.
"One must never employ a hungry Bookworm to look after books."
It has already eaten many of the book covers.
