Diorama title plates

Here's one simple but effective way to make title plates for your diorama. Only thing you would need is printable transparent foil and metallic paint. Finding foil isn't so simple task but it isn't impossible neither.

Design your plate (I suggest using MS Word). Parts that you plan in metallic color leave white. Flip your design horizontally to get mirror image (as can be seen on pic.2). When finished print your design on transparent foil.



Flip foil so printed part is on top. Cover transparent parts of design (I suggest whole design) with metallic paint. Probably you will need to paint in few layers since one layer of metallic paint is somewhat transparent too.



When paint dries flip the foil and cut your plates with hobby knife. Et voila, your plate is ready.



It looks even better in real life since effect of metallic paint is stronger than on photo.

Sorry I have no option again,to press the Like Button! So yes,I Like! However as I am wearing Beano Boys head today,I cannot reason on what ever Transparent Printable Foil is, I gess I`ll just Google it to find out. On the question of my Like! Fine work you should Sell Them,but get Copyright on them first. Yes, there is Gold in such idea`s! BB

Great idea
Yes it is film not foil. It is used for OHP projectors. I used to have several packs of it. Used them as a back up for Powerpoint.
I would add always print to a high resolution or dpi dots per inch. Alternatively the best quality setting.
Most printers can be tweaked if you use the photo settings

BTW you can get silver and gold metallic film for an inkjet printer which might be another way of doing it. Which is in effect the transparency with a silver or gold backing but with a high sheen mirror type finish.
