First, sorry about the delay...
Second, here we go!
Some time back I gathered some lichens and gave them baths of water and glycerin (different doses of the later, to see what worked better).
Now I used them. The different processes gave different results, some were closer to the comercial versions than others, but all are usable, depending on what you want to do.
I made 4 trees so far. I was happy with them and I still believe that for a wargame table could be ok, but for a diorama we need a higher standart... That's the way I think, anyway.
The first tree was used on the dio "Summer jobs" as a Pinus pinea. I think it does a good job there! It had some problems of balance but it was meant to be glued anyway...
Recently I made 3 other trees. The method was the same...
However, a fellow modeler sugested that I should use some commercial flocking, to give a more natural look to the trees. And I tried that on two of them. I guess they lack some flocking (I was trying to economize it) and, if one is going to use this process, the "branches" must be brown also, not green.
The results are here:
Yes, they are not finished. The process and the satisfaction with the results depend on what and how we want to use it...
But you could see the way I do trees, some with more detail than others.
