What are these?

Posted by Susofrick on 13 Apr 2026, 09:27

Dad is moving and we are going through stuff, give away, throw away, sell away or save away. A LOT is give away. I found these figures in a box marked Christmas and I really don't know who made them. We used to populate the Christmas village when I was a kid. I put a 1/72 Hat-Prussian as comparison.

A lot of animals. Without a comparison-figure, but I guess they are 1/32 or something like that.

Image

Another biggie. Think he belongs on a tractor or something like that.

Image

Another driver, but this time smaller.

Image

A nice dog (even if it isn't a boxer)

Image

I think this is a baby kangaroo

This I know is Britains. But the text on the base looks Spanish. We used her as Virgin Mary and the Jesus child.

Hope someone can answer. Anyhow, it was fun to find them.

I cannot contribute anything on the sources of these figures. But it is a nice collection - your Christmas village must have been a fancy place!

I can also offer no help, but it is nice to find stuff like this. One can create a complete new collection. I have a box of stuff like this from my childhood.

Most of it is Hong Kong made in my opinion like it is marked on the pig.

Only that lady is Britains or a copy. Can you make a picture of the inscription on the base. I would like to see it please?

Okay! Peter made me do it! I looked at her from beneath

And it is still in some foreign language, but I don't think it is Spanish anymore.

Hello, Gunnar.

Most of the figurines you’ve shown are completely unfamiliar to me. However, some of the ones in this photo (the hens, rabbits and pigs) are similar to figurines I’ve seen at Christmas markets in Madrid, used to set up the traditional nativity scenes at that time of year. They also match the scale you mention (approximately 1/32), although it never occurred to me to check whether they come from Hong Kong.

That's right, Jan. Peter really is a tireless internet searcher when it comes to finding all sorts of things related to miniature models.

This was an easy one. ;-)

And I have an ever growing collection of 54 mm figures and books about the subject. :P ;-)
