Hobby room

Posted by Bramble15 on 26 Jan 2011, 02:26

I was able to capture a space about 12' x 9' when I finished off our basement a few years back. Everything is perfect except I share the space with the furnace. Now in the winter it kicks on every 15 minutes or so and I can't hear my radio!

And last but not least no work area is complete without the proper inspiration!

That's a great working space, everything exactly in it's place.

I have to call shenanigans on the Iron Maiden banner though. The cuffs are completely wrong for that regiment and the sabre doesn't appear to be standard either....

And when you're tired, you can just let yourself fall back and have a nap. That's practical. :-D

Some new pics of my room, as the old ones are gone, and not up to date anymore:

It's not a big room, just about 3x1.75 meters, but I'm happy with it, and spend about 90% of my time at home in it.

Some things need a change, like my 20 year old desk, and the chair in front of it (dinner chair, not really comfortable). My desk light is busted. Tried to adjust in one day and then the shade just broke off...

The IKEA system on the left is new, and I am very happy with that, because it gives me so much more storage space :D

The showcase is also a welcome recent addition to the room, got that late last year from my dad.

Today I'm moving out of my hobby room to a new one downstairs in the garage (with magnifying lamp and a chair finally!)

Before I pack up and move everything, here's my current hobby space.... And you can't call anyone else's room messy now

Firstly, the work table. As you can see, I spread everything clearly so that everything is visible and within reach ;-)

A view of the reference shelf and work table:

Random bits and bobs are piled. There is a gas mask in case a spontaneous nuclear war breaks out or worse; ifmum walks in:
Image

Models to be built are kept under the bed, which is used for another hobby when I find a 1/1 scale female figure there :winky: (joking!)... And yes, my hobby room is my bedroom!
Image

But as I said, moving to a new hobby room today :-D

How do work with the table so low? Is that a revolver I see on the modeling table? Is that for self defense or is it for the last deperate act of a 1/72 figure painter?

Another try again. Yup, been here before. But this Saturday we finally managed to organize (and disorganize  ) parts of the hobby-room. It's a walk-in-closet so my guitar-amps, cases, keyboard, two (not usable) guitars and a lot of books share the space. Tried it yesterday and it worked fine. Now I'll ony need somewhere to store my finished dios (and probably time to paint).

The table:

A little better look:

Some of the DISorganized part:

More of the disorganized part:

Some of my small dios. Right now on the top of my keyboard.

Ah, yes. I need something to sit on too. Could be a little uncomfortable if I didn't.
Image

Valter was very tired after the big organizing work.
Image

While I ended up on the balcony with a beer and some accessories :-D .
