Modern Italian uniforms

Posted by gbvarese on 18 Jul 2019, 19:27

Dear all,
Most of you knows me as a soldier modeller. I'm a Navy reserve officer too and, as such, I often participate, with my colleagues, in military exercises held by professional troops. The attached images show one of these, namely a live fire exercise of the Nizza armored cavalry regiment. I'm wearing the camouflaged uniform, so called "vegetata" recently adopted by the Italian army. The regiment is equipped with Centauro and Puma, both armored car.

Dear Kesko,
Don't worry: you can find images like these anywhere on Italian official military sites.
It's impressive the cannon of Centauro: we saw very closely it in the factory OTOMelara at Spezia (there taking pictures were not allowed). They succeded to contain the recoil by drilling inclined holes all around the barrel final part.
