Finished diorama ''The Assault''

Posted by Floris on 18 Dec 2014, 17:42

Hey everyone,

Last I have made this diorama. The last few days is the weather very dark here in The Netherlands. It was difficult to make some good pictures, so I hope these are oké.

This is a little diorama called ''The Assault'', from Oniria-miniatures. It includes 3 metal figures, a resin base with wall and a metal cannon. The rifle and shako are from victrix miniatures, because the ones in the kit didn't look good.
This diorama takes place in Spain, about 1812. The dead Frenchman is painted as a voltigeur . The two British soldiers are light infantry from the ''11th North Devon'' regiment.

I hope you have got some tips, criticism and other comments so I can improve my modelwork the next time. :P

Comment = I like it!
Criticism = none really.

I like the realistic action in a small setting. I like the paint work especially the faces. Love the face on the figure coming over the wall. Very intense!

Well,it looks like there`s been a Hell of a Fight,and in spite of being British myself I feel sorry for that poor French fellow lying there.
All three ,the poor French Voltigeur, The aggressive British soldier, and The Cock-a-hoop Officer from the 11th regiment extremely pleased with his success, are very well painted indeed.

Only my opinion. Perhaps a wisp of smoke slowly rising from the cannon would be a nice touch to add,just to indicate how close in time the fighting had been. Real smoke is good to capture,but not being a smoker! A tiny wisp of cotton wool would do. So Yip! I like it All. BB
