Work in Progress

Busy busy busy, but still going on....

Posted by Pat on 02 Dec 2009, 14:49

Hi all, been a while. Had some trouble with the company... no worries though.
Been busy working on some metals from Valdemar. Had some trouble with the primer earlier, the black primer turned grey???

Anyway here's the result so far. I am a really slow painter so it will take some time to finish them properly. Maybe it's got something to do with the oil paints I use.

That is one hell of a forest. Very atmospheric even in its unfinished form. Looking forward to see to end result.

Were you using a spray paint for your primer? I have seen this happen (especially with plastic figures) and I think it may relate to the temperature and humidity - particularly the latter.

Best to spray paint in the house (when the wife is out) on dry days. I also think this is why sometimes matt varnish sprays sometimes go spectacularly wrong and yoiu end up with white figures. Some sprays seem more susceptible to this than others.

All the best

Your work makes me want to quit my dayjob and craft and paint all day until I reach that level of professionality.

Impressive !!

Could you please post some close up pictures, too ?
