These new armoured warriors are every bit as good as their predecessors. Once again, your paintjob on them is simply stunning, elegantmess.

Absolutely brilliant representations of knights in armour. I`d love to know a little about your techniques adopted to represent the armour itself. It`s not a period i have delved into very deeply although i do remember painting Joan of Arc and using humbrol`s metalcote paints and polishing them with a lint free cloth long long ago but am sure the effect was nowhere near this good. Any tips would be appreciated.

I wish I could take credit, but these are far beyond my skills.

Beautiful work.

You know I'm not yet at the top level of painting. I think I can improve my technique.
The same goes for the photos. I think I can improve my shots.

Thanks a lot k.b. ;-)
For my technique, I use steel grey from the Vallejo brand and then I apply a wash of black to create shadows and bring out the volumes.

A fantastic progress here, all wonderful painted knights.

About painting armour, there are two ways I do it.

1. Almost the same as Stephane. I use chainmail from Games Workshop, black wash and a drybush with silver on the edges.

2. Paint the armour black and do a drybrush with silver (shiny) or chainmail (dull). This way works very good for my bigger 54 mm figures.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, elegantmess. I’m in the same boat as you – I just can’t manage to paint figures as realistically as Stéphane does.
