Various 1.72 figures on the WWII theme

Posted by JurgenH on 05 Jul 2025, 17:36

Hello, and good evening
Today I would like to introduce you to various soldiers of the German Wehrmacht. I will keep this thread running and show converted WW II figures in loose succession.
First I have the Luftwaffe soldiers of Russia drafted into the German army. Manufacturer Zvezda. I particularly like the somewhat chubby soldier. As the overalls are quite neutral it is easy to repaint them.

Nice work - particularly the soldier with the 'jerry can' - I have no idea what it's called in German but it was possibly the greatest invention of the war.

Hello all

Here I have a small modification of a Zvezda figure from the infantry platoon set.
I have reinforced the backward tilt by a cut in the back, at belt height. The pictures with the black base show the finished figure.

MySniper is ready to
Here I have the sniper with its base from Zvezda. I've detailed the base a bit, but otherwise left it as it is.

Hello
It goes on with my WWII Figures

Now it gets a little more difficult these gentlemen are from Caesar . The ones with the paddles are from the Luftwaffe Operation set (I don't know why you need inflatable boats). The other two are actually cyclists, and from the howitzer set, which I can't use. I ruined the head of one figure when cleaning the ridges.
For some of the figures I use a flat brass brush in a mini drill at low speed. Depending on the consistency of the plastic.

So that's it for now, soon we'll continue with the figures.
I want them gone. They're getting in the way of my Puma construction.

Hello, it goes on.

Unfortunately, these gentlemen will have to go to the front and become part of the mounted infantry. (I only have a few of them).

But first, as usual with me, they have to go to my surgical departmet

Here are a few pictures in which I have changed the position of the legs. By making cuts in the knees, (please zoom it)
and under the uniform skirt. I fixed the legs by inserting pieces of wire or insulating cables. I use superglue gel for gluing. It also serves as a 1st filler.
Too much can be cut away easily.

After the surgery the guys can recover before they are primed.
