Waterloo Update

I am working on two projects for the Waterloo diorama at the moment.

Frischermont farm and chateau is just off the Siborne model. It's really hard to know what it looked like because the building was pulled down in the 1960s. It is however possible to piece together the evidence and with these clues my father has got building. Here are the results:











I've also been modelling the area East of the main road between the crossroads and Mont St Jean. This consists of open wheat and ploughed fields:







Into this area I'm placing Dutch-Belgian light cavalry:









These figures are by Andre, and the rest of the brigade will follow soon.

I am disappearing under hordes of Austrians and the project is only just starting.

That would be the spot where Zeithen's 3rd corps deployed would it not? Super nice model that evoked every picture of it I've seen. To let you know it isn't the mail that has let you down but me as I was trying to get a few more done to include. If you're needing them soon please do let me know. My apologies for not carrying through. You and your fathers work looks gorgeous and ticking off mentally all the various buildings that has to be about the last of them or so I'd imagine. A very long road you're traveling and seeing the end in sight must be exciting and challenging at the same time knowing you have to call on the reserves to reach the end. Time to send in the guard.

On joining I thought I was getting in on the last couple of years before completion now it's 7 years on I think. Perfectly understandable as no one has ever attempted something so ambitious before and you had no way to even guess how long things might take or the complexities involved in maintaining accuracy. Our admiration for what you do is without peer.
