I'm impressed by the 3d printed ballistas.
The "rope" has a rope like texture that just looks real, when you paint & wash it.

Surely, this is the future for miniature figurines.

At first look I thought the strong texture on the wood structure might be a result of the printing process itself, but at closer inspection I recognized it was designed on purpose, because other parts are completely smooth.
Do you have your own 3D-printer, and if so, can you recommend that model?

No, I have this guy in Adelaide who is a master and a perfectionist - really easy to work with.
The bonus is although he lives a bit over 2000 kilometres away, it's the same country so postage costs are low.
