I completely agree with you, Donald. ;-)

Thanks for the compliments, mate. Yes, this drummer is finished, although it's only the first of three. I still have two more to go.

Excellent progress.

The drum strap adds to the look.

Best wishes,

Chris

Thank you very much for your positive feedback, Chris and Peter. :-D

Yes, Peter, I still have 20 to go, although I've already started the fifth one.

It's fascinating to see how a project like this develops, for example, the details like the strap that was added to the drum later.

I was just having a discussion with an artist who's creating illustrations for a book. She said that people are interested in the finished images, but also in the process and the decisions she has to make when designing them. I think that's probably true anywhere creativity is involved: people are interested in the end result, but also in how it was made - and why. That's why WIP presentations here on the forum like your Band project are so popular, I think.

Stephan, I fully agree with you that it's just as important to see the final result of a project as it's to know and follow all the intermediate steps that led to it, because these often provide valuable insight into aspects that you cannot guess, intuit or appreciate in the final product. :-)

What’s more, in my particular case, given how slow I am at painting figures and other elements of the work, it would be years from the moment I announced the start of a new project until you could see the final result, hahaha.

After several weeks of being unable to access the forum, I’ve discovered today that I can do so again. :-D

So, having caught up and replied to all the posts I’d missed, I’d like to introduce you to the latest addition to my band. He’s the first of the trombone players, and here he is in the usual pictures taken from four different angles:

The next musician is also finished, but still needs to be photographed. ;-)

Throughout the dark ages, I tried to access the forum every single day, and I'm glad I never gave up hope. The wait was worth it – another of your magnificent figures is now on display, a nice reward for everyone who stayed with Benno's Forum.

Thank you very much for such positive feedback, Stephan and Peter, my friends. ;-)

And it’s true, after all the difficulties and failed attempts to log in to the forum, it’s always a pleasure to come across new posts from other members who have managed to post. :-D

Now that I’ve finally managed to log into the forum, after trying unsuccessfully for several days, I’m posting photos of the latest member to join the band. He’s one of the two trumpeters, and what makes him special is that he’s the first musician with a beard – though there are more to come. He’s also the first one I’ve painted with a shaved head. :-)

As always, here are the usual five pictures:

The next figure will also have something special about it; it’s already in the pipeline. ;-)

It seems that access to the forum has returned to normal over the last three or four days. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way.

And thank you very much for your consistently positive comments, Stephan and Enrico, my friends. It’s also a real treat for me to see your current projects on the forum making progress every time I manage to log in. ;-)

For the moment, it seems the force (in its high-tech form) is still with us, Peter.
