Unbelievably neat painting, Santi! You have a special comic book-like style.

I can't wait to see the whole band together, so paint my friend :P

Thank you, Remco, both for fixing the post and for your encouragement. ;-)

Thanks, huib. Now you can imagine why it takes me so long to paint each of my figures, always striving to achieve the most perfect result possible. :-)

And I like that you also appreciate my figures' painting style, which has already made them unmistakable in the forum.

Thank you, Enrico and Jan. Yes, the work continues, although, for the reason I explained to huib, not at the rapid pace that I and everyone else would like. :(

When painting the last figure, the drummer, I had to do a lot of research on the colours of the drum, as they change from one reign to another and even within the same reign. Thanks to the images I found on the internet and the photos I took myself, I was able to choose the design I considered most appropriate.

The first picture shows the drums with the design from the reign of Juan Carlos I (with his own royal coat of arms and blue background). The second shows the design from the early years of the reign of his son Felipe VI, and the third shows the most recent design, which is the one I finally used:

Santi, it's nice to seethe "originals". Your figure captures the look well.

BTW have you thought about the background you'll pose your band on?

Although I already have the base designed, the truth is that I still have so much left to finish the diorama that I hadn't even thought about adding a background when I will take photos of it.

But now that you mention it, I've been doing some tests with CapCut, the editor I use to make my YouTube videos, using its free AI feature to change backgrounds, and the results haven't been too bad. Here's the test I did. Above is the original image and below is the one with the background I added (the Royal Palace of Madrid):

It's nothing compared to the wonders Stephan (sberry) achieves, but I'm satisfied with it.

Happy to see you are arriving at the end Santi, painting completed is a good milestone.
Interesting the results I've seen using the AI (you and others in the forum), years ago for my dioramas I used as background paper printing of real pictures/paintings found in internet, it seems stone age :xd:

Arriving at the end? Noooo. Enrico, unfortunately I've only painted three and a half figures... I still have twenty and a half left! :sweatdrop:

I only mentioned the subject of backgrounds for the pictures because Donald (Ochoin) asked me if I had thought about what backgrounds to use for the ones I have once the diorama is finished and photographed. :-D

The positive side of this is that it has allowed me to research and try out the use of AI applied to the hobby for the first time. :winky:

A nice progress on this project, that drummer looks really cool.

I'd say you can be more than satisfied with this result! This method offers the possibility of obtaining the perfect background for any of your scenes. And the photo of the Royal Palace presumably doesn't exhibit any of the architectural flaws that my AI-faked villa photo shows...

Thank you very much, Stephan. The truth is that I'm not entirely satisfied with him. When reviewing the actual images, I realised that I omitted an important detail in my figure, which I intend to add as soon as possible. I'll post some new pictures when I do. :winky:

Thanks again, my friend. I have to thank you for sparking my interest in using AI to enhance my photos. In fact, I've started applying it to images from some of my previous projects that I'm posting in the “20 mm - 1/72 Scale General” section. ;-)

I have already seen and commented on your post ‘A Villa by the Sea’, paying special attention to the fantastic photos that combine real images with others created with AI.

By the way, I've finished the next member of the band. He's the drum major, and his ceremonial sash has been particularly difficult to paint. Looking at the original character, I think it turned out pretty well in the end.

Enrico, I believe that when depicting modern military figures, especially in full dress uniform, trying to differentiate the various ranks through their symbols is important, as it introduces more variations between one figure and another, in addition to increasing their realism. ;-)

Regarding this, I've already added the detail I felt was important: the strap that hangs from the drum. This is clearly visible in the actual photos and wasn't difficult to make—simply a thin strip of paper glued in the correct position. I've added it to both the drummer I've already painted and the two that are waiting their turn. I think they look better now.

I agree, Santi. As you know, it's often that attention to little details that makes an enormous difference.
Your Drummer is now done? It certainly looks fabulous.
