Very nice and inspiring update. Like your tree growing. Have 17 lying in the hobbyroom for paperwork and painting, just need the time. I tried talcum powder for snow.

I had poured a bit to much of the water effect in at the same time so it took a bit to long to cure. Being a bit to unpatient to wait I started adding the grass before the water had cured which you are not supposed to do. Som grass ended up on the surface of the water and i tried removing by blowing it away, the thinly cured surface bursted. You can see that the water is a bit lighter on the right side of the tank in the picture above.

Not that it matters so much where the grass ends up, most of the water is supposed to be covered with snow anyway. The water is just there so that the tank wheels and tracks get covered and an equal level.

Thank you! Paperwork? You mean making leaves out of paper?

Tank from above. I have tried out some more snow, now Citadel texture/technical Valhallan blizzard.

The different snow effects I use. I guess the two different Citadel snow types are the same just that some time they changed the word from technical to texture or vise versa. The light machine gunner is the first figure to be added to the diorama.
Image
First lets make a reminder of how I want the figures to be placed.
Image
Then let's try out Vallejo Environmental in the way it's supposed to be used.

I just realized that this guy wasn't carrying an anti-tank mine, but instead a magazine for the DP 1928 LMG. Had to repaint the clip into metal grey.
Image
Placing him besides LMG instead.

Placing commander with binoculars behind them.

What they'll look like from the other side.

Removed the base of the Russian on the left.

More snow added.
Image
Having used Noch latex(mistook it for white glue) for ataching this guy, I discover some kind of weird chemical reaction that turns the snow into yellow.

I test out the old modellers trick of mixing bicarbonate with white glue an white paint. in order to raise the snowdrift.
Image
On the right side I try out another snowdrift by mixing White glue with Citadel Valhallian Blizzard and Vallejo Environment Snow.
Image
The Bicarbonate, White paint and Whiteglue mix on the left turn out visably whiter.
Image
Smoothing out the edges.
Image
Image
The bicarbonate snow is covered by a layer of Citadel Valhallian Blizzard.

Just a month later! :-D Fastest answer today I think. By paperwork I mean adding toiletpaper to the wire-trunk. My dio (hmm, is it ten years since I started it???) is set in early March so no leaves on the trees.
