Waterloo Remodelled

Posted by Captain Sibourne on 12 Oct 2021, 20:28

The Waterloo Remodelled exhibition will be at the UK National Army Museum from next Wednesday. Yesterday, I laid it all out in the garden to take advantage of a sunny day. The sections were Plancenoit, Hougoumont, La Haie Sainte, Papelotte and la Belle Alliance.

Here are some photographs:

That's the garden at Hougoumont, but glad you think it looks that realistic!

Well, this is intimidatingly fantastic! This looks like more man-hours of modelling and painting than someone has in their lifetime!

Magnificent and truly spectacular! The high-altitude photos show the troop-masses and very finely-crafted buildings to good effect.

Had you been piloting a hot-air balloon above Mon St Jean in mid- June 1815 this is what you might well have seen.

The international borders are closed otherwise I might just have been there at the right time to visit this.

However I am very pleased that I got to see your posts on the forums. Thank you and thanks to everyone involved in this remarkable project; I hope the exhibition goes very well.

Mindblowing, Captain,

it has been said already, but I need to express it myself.
In terms of Quality and Quantity just unbeatable. I had seen a number of Waterloo dios before, but yours is just the top of the crop. The new standard. It definitely allows to taste the spirit of this great event.

Will be very hard to redo - and why should anyone?
So, a big bow to your great team effort, and thank you for sharing here on Benno's
