Volkssturm.

Posted by Jaques on 26 Jan 2021, 23:15

Hi , friends.

I haven't posted my work for some time, but I keep following the excellent work of the Forum's friends.

I had hoped for the quality of the Mars figures reduced from 1/35 to 1/72, but although the PSR said it was one of the manufacturer's best works, I was little disappointed with the “melting” of the Volkssturm and decided to create my own figures.
The initial figures still need finishing. They are using MP, panzerfaust and contain a boy among them. I will still make some with pistol and rifle. I hope you like it.

Jaques--

Your Volkssturm are truly impressive. Huge improvement over the offerings from the big manufacturers.

What a tragedy that Hitler believed he could arm children and old men and turn the tide of the battle. Reminds me of the fever-brained schemes of a certain present-day politician, truth be told.

Hi , friends.

Many thanks for the comments. Most of the figures are made with metal and resin parts in various parts.

Zirrian. I'm only doing it for my collection. I didn't think about making copies, because I'm not a figure salesman. :yeah:

Super work and very realistic too.

I have just watched the Berlin 1945 documentary’s on BBC I player.

Harrowing stuff, especially the children being maimed afterwards by playing with ordnance.

Best wishes,

Chris

That girl operating the radio is a truly remarkable figure. Very well done. I can't wait to see her painted up and in a diorama.

Hi , friends. :yeah:

Many thanks for the comments.
A new figure.
The base figure on the left is an Italian by Waterloo. To the right is a white metal figure that has been reduced and sculpted.

That is really cool. I like how the new figure is smaller and more slender.

Her calves still look a tad too manly, but a clever paint job could probably mitigate that mild concern.
