Cruiser in desert

Posted by JueHue on 08 Jan 2021, 14:08

Here I would like to introduce my new work:
An A9 cruiser in the desert. I don't have a title for the dio yet.
First the figures, I got the Orion Panzer crew in dessert.
The poses are good, only the burr is a bit annoying. The figures are made of slightly thicker soft plastic and are difficult to work with.

I used to chop up the yellow figure. To bring it back to life, I donated a head and an arm from the Orion set. I cut the back of the commander and fixed it with a wedge. I used the Revell UV set for filling discovered me. The glue dries in a minute, provided the UV light comes to the glue. The disadvantage is that it is transparent. You have to apply paint to see what you have done. I made the figures with the soldering iron and a brass brush for the Dremel edited.
Here are the pictures.

The Cruiser A9 is built out of the box, only the exhaust grille and the cartridge ejection on the tower are scratched. As accessories I have added canteens and bags, tarpaulin and a bucket. The construction was very pleasant. The only thing that was not so nice are the chains. I separated the segments, milled them out and glued them back in. I cast off the outer structure of the chains from Valentine and simply stuck them on. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, I'm happy to help.
Stay healthy .

sorry for my google englisch

Hi Jurgen, looking good.

The arm of service number red 53 is for NW Europe, the Middle East command diverged from standard practice and used red 40, 86, 67 for the senior armoured brigade regiments and green 65, 68, 83 for the junior.

I only have a few British decals. I used a model in 1:35 as a basis. My area is German wistful power. I don't want to make any more changes to the model. But thanks for the hint.

Very nice, Jürgen. What brand is the A9?
It reminds me of one of my A9 very much. Similar style: http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22357#p244638

By the way, 'Dessert' means Nachspeise. I presume you mean 'desert' as in Wüste. ;-)

The 2021 Dakar moto racers are quite happy to get the desert as a dessert.

Now the question is how this statement belong to the 1/72 cruiser?

Hello Huib
The A9 is from IBG Serie World at war. In the forum Modellbaugilde.de is a detailed construction report.
Wiking: Yes, it should mean desert, not dessert.

I am not an expert on this vehicle and it’s markings but as a once avid desert war gamer I think it has a real desert feel to it.

The colouring and weathering are great to my eye.

Best wishes,,

Chris

Great job. Love those multi turret tanks. Like a land battleship.

Hi there
My figures are ready.
the first three are unchanged: British tank crew in summer dress.

The second three-pack as well, here I just shortened the commander.
Yes, the kneeling one has a strange skin color. Here I wanted to make the difference between old Africans and newcomers from the island clear.

The last one is just the middle one, Out of The Box, I just stole his grenade. It was too big for a 2 pounder.
The one on the right has a wedge in the back so that he can lean out of the tower.
The figure on the left is from Revell's Scottish 8th Army (PSR bottom row of 2nd)

I gave him a beret from the Orion set and a new arm of unknown origin.
Later I will combine the composition of cruiser, figures and terrain into a dio.

If someone has a tip or a question, I'll be happy to answer them.
Oh yes, I wanted to note that I glued the figures with Revell's UV glue and also partially modeled them.

Have fun with the pictures.
And my wish: stay healthy
