Fantasy Empire army for Orctober

Posted by PhilC on 04 Oct 2020, 18:27

Hi guys! As written in a post related to Orctober (see here: http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24014&p=262773#p262773), I have begun to paint an Empire army (as named in Warhammer Fantasy Battle) that should try to save the Old world from the innumerable green hordes of Orcs.

Of course the Empire needs reinforcement, so please feel free to add pictures of your own troops (XBriX, don't leave me alone against those monsters  ) !!

Following (very loosely) the HOTT rules, I need 12 elements of figures. I chose an army list for which I need 41 figures. Here you are the first ones:

Longswords:

Halberdiers:

And an Arquebusier:

Hum Peter, we agreed on October 13th, 2019 (it was a nice sunday afternoon), that YOU would show your mummies on display FIRST, and I have at least 4 witnesses ready to swear that I am true

Warhammer or not Warhammer...
To me these are Swiss Landsknechte. Why can the Swiss survive in the mountains? Because they are great Orc slayers
Beautifully painted figures anyway

Bravo, et encore une

Thank you all for your kind comments, and thank you Carlosfaro for the reinforcements, so impressive! Where did you find this hippogrif ? I recognized the foot soldier, I've planned to paint an element of four of these arquebusiers as mercenaries.

I also have a few more men to show.
More halberdiers:

and a fanatic (equivalent to Warhammer flagellants):

Good evening! A new update in my project - at last, I only have 13 days left before the end of the month to fulfill the Orctober challenge ;-)

This time, I can show you the first element of knights, made with 15th century french knights from Miniart:
Image

I also finished the fanatics element - figures from various manufacturers, just guess  :

And a preview of the two fire wizards I'm working on:

Hope you're not fed up with the Empire

Oh, I almost forgot: more pictures and work progress here: https://philotepsfigures.blogspot.com/2020/10/orctober-challenge-episode-4-knights.html

Thank you for your kind comments, gentlemen!
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, only 5 days before the end of the month, and the paintjob is not very close to the end.

This time, an element of Arquebusiers from Talabecland province:

Next, the test shot for the mecenary Arquebusiers unit:

And the FFFW (first finished fire wizard  ):

What do you think of them ?

I think they look spot on. It's a good idea to use the old Empire sourcebook, (and it saves having to dream up countless individual colour schemes for landesknechts) and these figures work really well with it. Love your work.
