More Crimeans and some other WIPs

Posted by Susofrick on 19 May 2020, 09:34

Been painting some of Strelets Crimeans and some other stuff (2 ECW-metals (25mm) and Aragorn's horse). Don't know if I'm going to finish the Crimean stuff before I start with something else, but I will try.

I also know very well how you feel when have a half-finished project, but you're already developing in your mind (and sometimes even in reality) a new one, more exciting than the previous one.

Get on with them, Susofrick (refers to all your past, present and future projects).

Best regards. :-)

Santi.

Oh no, it's the horror hitsong from my youth!!!!

Thanks for the comments, votes and likes. It's always fun with the competitions. And never ending projects... I know I will miss them when I'm finished! :-D When I finish this batch I have two more batches of figures to paint. Tempted to buy more, but then I'll never finish. It will probably not be totally accurate ... :-D

That's the thing with historical battles... they tended to be crowded :D

That's a nice vac form base and the Khyber pass is a good choice to give an impression of The Valley of Death.

I think it's fine to compress the geography to fit in the scene, If your cavalry are a bit crowded it might just enhance the feeling of them riding into a trap.

Finished some Russians and it took forever! Well, the base doesn't look bigger for some reason. :-D

And started with painting batch 3. Is that a TV and a couch? Of course it is a TV and a couch! They must have something to do while they're waiting for the charge.

More batch 3. Horses and casualties:

And batch 4:

This will definitely take a while! Luckily I'm also doing other stuff. As painting my entry for Painting Competition 153. :-D

Stay safe and go on painting!

This is very considerate of you! But you better make sure they don't watch any anti-war movies, otherwise you might get problems with troop morale!

Cool project, Gunnar, I like those classic Strelets figs. So I will wait like you did for the next batch of my Prussian Corps. ;-)

This is going very slow. Almost too slow to be fun. But now I have almost finished the horses! A wash and they are done. Well, the throat-plumes .... don't know yet how many officers I have for each unit. When I know that I will paint the throat-plumes too. Read somewhere that the lancers didn't use them, but is not a problem if I have too many horses, I do have some casualties so I plan to have some empty horses.
