Folgore Paratroopers Division.

Posted by Jaques on 20 Feb 2020, 00:08

Hi friends.

I always wanted to have this troop in 1/72.
Waterloo has two sets, but the size of the figures, especially the heads, in my opinion, are not compatible with the Airfix and Esci / Italeri figures that I use for my desert troops. So I started conversions, some simple, others more complex. I hope you like it.

Nice conversions.

I personally believe that having a proper face rather than a blob with a nose on brings our troops to ‘life’.

Excellent stuff.

Best wishes,

Chris

The heads were made by reducing the size and sculpting in resin. hard work as there are several attempts to get some in the right size.

It is very good to know that there is a veteran “Folgore” in our forum. The history of struggle, heroism and desperate defense Folgore in the desert, is legendary.

Hi.

As I said before, the idea of this work was to convert and transform the parachutists to be more compatible with their opponents from the Airfix British Eighth Army, Esci / Italeri and Strelets.

The work and they went to my long line of figures awaiting painting.
I hope you like it.

 Superb conversions, If I can a suggestion, more rifles and less submachine guns.
Unfortunately, the royal Italian army was not famous for the equipment given to its soldiers.
And the paratroopers of theFolgore division were not treated better in terms of equipment and weapons.
However very, very beautiful conversions! :notworthy:

Fantastic conversions again, Jaques! These figures are really needed. The existing plastic figs are not as good as yours.

Very impressive, and it is very nice to see some of the more odd design choices by Waterloo 1815 being corrected by you. I hope to see more of your excellent work, Jaques.
