A nice and colorful scene, and I guess this is merely the beginning of a much larger display.

Looking at the figure at the center, it seems that the year does not start well for everybody - let's hope that it does for the rest of us ...

Looks like that the priest is set for the hatch of the alien?

Here is a modified revell figurine: the eagle knight. I added quetzal feathers, moved the arm and turned the head ...

Gruesome stuff but very well done.

Shades of Apocaypto spring to mind.

Different ‘culture’ but similar practises.

Great painting.

Best wishes,

Chris

The novel "Aztec" by gary Jennings is a must read if Aztec culture interests you. Very long read and slow starter but once it gets going you can't stop reading. Bloody masterpiece with more twists and bizarre surprises than you can count. It would doubtless inspire many more dioramas . Read this book!

Mate, I've liked this blog since I first visited the website and was lurking in the background, I love the bright colours and the black vestments of the priest, I was compiling notes for my own Aztecs from this, great work, hope to see more!
