Okay...how in the world did you get them to look so much like the real Laurel & Hardy? Apart from the excellent sculpting, naturally.

Marvin.
You did a wonderful job on them. His painting is an inspiration.

Mabo.
Thank you very much for the compliment. I'm happy.

Regards.

I agree with everybody: your figures are very well made and are also very fun, Jaques.

And you made an amazing paintwork on them, Marvin. :notworthy:

My best compliments for both.

Wow Jacques,

they are really well realized. I can reckognize my heroes of childhood very well - and Marvin's painted figures do them good credit.
Sometimes I wonder where this forum is leading me. I started painting figures to occupy myself when I am too tired to do anything else - painting figures gives my mind a rest and lets me wander through history - my connection to figures is really history. Many soldiers quickly and simply painted in uniforms was about right - I remembered the Airfix I had in my youth never painted at that time.
Now, I start ever more ambitious projects - starting to heavily modify figs, making portraits in their faces when before I just made a flesh-coloured splosh.
To me Alex and his sculptures started it all with his close to life miniatures, a level I had never seen before. Now many people do sculpts and I encounter ever more personality figures.
Stan and Oliver are marvelous, Jacques!

Hi friends. :yeah:

After the pandemic and with less work, I'm back to posting on the forum. I wish everyone and their families are safe. This is my version of the painting in homage to the duo that made elderly collectors like me so happy in childhood.

Best Regards.

Jaques.

Both Laurel and Hardy fit very well with the rest of the foreign legionnaires, Jaques, but with their distinctive look. Great characters they are!
