I am lagging behind. The Prussian are approaching and I'll be soon outnumbered. History will repeat itself!

This will be a great inspiration for me as I paint my Prussians! Only painted Prince August's before and that was some time (about 30 years) ago

Another undead topic! After month in which I had no time and also no mood to paint something, I can show another step forward in my project.

Here you see the 4th Westphalian Landwehr Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1 Corps.

I am not completly content with the groundwork. I tried something different (washing), which did not came out as I wished.

The figures are from Art Miniaturen. I like them because they have some individual poses, giving the waiting men a lot of character.

Next unit is another Line Infantry Regiment to complete my 3rd Brigade. I hope to finish them quicker...

Thanks for looking!

Nice bunch of handsomes.

Mr Crynns got me into this way business.

I use brown umber and it is definitely a case of less is more.

If we are not careful the ink blobs every facial detail out. I found that a small brush helps remove any unwanted surplus.

It’s brilliant for highlighting faces and fingers in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris

They look good Jan. Grizzled veterans look. I, too, favor the lack of uniformity of poses. Nice work.

Good work Jan. On first photo groundwork doesn't look bad at all.
On the last one I think that flashlight "killed" it :)
