Prussian Fusiliers 1806

Ah! The joy of plastic that can be cut and scraped :P :-D :yeah:

I'm liking the look of this set. There's one of the marching figures with extra plastic between the shoulder and the musket and it cuts out very well :yeah:  And I only stuck the blade into one finger - mind you it was just the one figure too.

The first installment however are the standing figures.

I'm impressed how neat your priming job is. Even bottlecaps are evenly primed.

There's something about the sight of primed Napoleonic figures on bottle tops that sets my painting hand tingling. Looking forward to seeing these Hat figures develop!

Just out of interest - what do you prime with? I always use a cheap can of black acrylic car spray paint. :eh:

I've thrown a bit of paint at them, so here's the current situation.

There's a General that's sneaked onto the painting tray too.

As is evident there are two Brigades represented and there will be two of the three Battalions represented from each.

I do like this little group. They're well sculpted/moulded and fun to paint.

I like these figures too, there's a bit of character to them. Liking the colour of the facings too.

Looking good now - with the exception of the bare-chested chap in the background who still needs to get the rest of the uniform from the commissary.

Painting now finished. They're still wet from the final wash but looking decent.

This set will next appear in the Gallery when I've based them.

In the meantime, does anyone want to have a stab at the Brigade/ Battalions?

The next lot up are half the firing line.

Note the white primer on many of the muskets. The grey primer showed that I hadn't cleaned off the mould lines quite enough so I had to sort them.

You're painting a very nice army Fred! Keep them coming!

There is someone mad in this picture! In the left corner! If he gets them they will stop laughing!

Nice rows of painted man.
Also the knobs get color.
Must be a huge family by all the identical faces. :-D
The main color are red, yellow and green. Remind me to something well known ...

Which knobs do you mean?

They're all from the same region so they stand a very good chance of looking like the man with the horse ( Later it was the man with the bicycle.) Benny Hill fans will probably think of the milkman. ;-)

Here we go again.

Firing line part 2

Image

This time it involves a little game.

I started separating the bayonets from the bodies until the knife went a little too far on one of them so it's a "Spot the missing bayonet" or perhaps that should be " Spot the place where there isn't a bayonet but there should be"

It should be noted that I lost no red coloured bodily fluid in this operation.

Peter's request for command cost me about an hour but things have moved on well with the troops (so far). :-D
