Great Lechia Empire Warriors

Posted by Arbogastiz on 12 Nov 2018, 22:58

Hi friends, I just begin refreshing my old Saxon and Viking Armies (both Emhar and Zvezda sets) painted about 7-8 years ago. Now I want to paint them as slightly fantasy/alternative history warriors of Slavic Great Lechia Empire, but don't worry, I 'll keep traditional 'Dark Ages' weapons, dino-cavalry or las-cannons aren't planned    :

Hi Carlosfaro, you know how/where to find models to build riders on bears !? I need to paint some for my 1/72 dwarves army.

Thanks, the war priest is my old figure sculpted in modeling clay (really ''prehistoric' times,I haven't heard about green stuff or miliput yet :) Mounted bears - that sounds interesting, but I don't know where can I find suitable figures? I've only got two bears from Italeri Gladiators set...

For sure I know some bear-mount candidates ..Blood dawn metal range of 18mm dwarves..good match to 1/72, bears are nice and you have even the dwarf riders there:
Codes Dwf104 to dwf110

Example-

For a more massive kind, and if you are able to find them:Arcane Legions roman cavalry with Bear cataphaxts..
The riders are 1:72 and the bears are fuerce and armoured..They come as a pIece! Conversion or removal is required

Maybe ebay has still some to putchase-the set includes four bear riders and some other "generic" roman horsemen, plus bases and cards..

I was more curious and I realized also some 15mm orc riders from Ral Partha-demonworld range , they are even available as lone bear group but I fear they are too small (look at the mounted Orcs and notice that they are actually small as 1:72 goblins..so bears would be not so big for carrying 1/72 men)
