Panther Ausf.G Late, Hungary 1945

Posted by Quepwik on 06 Sep 2018, 07:35

Hi all.

Sorry, it's been a while since I had not posted here.

I present you my new project inspired by the extraordinary work of Roger Hurkmans, one of the best modelers in the world, in my opinion, and also helped by the Canfora's book about Panthers.

So, this is a Panther Ausf.G Late in the last fights in Hungary, around Balaton lake.

The Panther is a Dragon Model (Originaly with steel wheels but in this case, i will put "normal" wheels). Gun is from RB Models, Photo-etched parts are from Voyager and a lot of personnal scratchbuilt like turret rear hatch.

I like your super detailing very much.
And as a special addition you open the rear door !

Do you plan to do some damages on the front fenders and the store boxes at the end ?

There is a lot of work in it.
And so more to do.

:yeah:

Thank you for your feedback.

I started to dent one of the store box at left and the front fenders will also suffer damage. But I wait a little while everything is well glued because for the moment, it is very fragile.

It seems you have very steady hand and sharp eye (or good magnifier :D )

Good job overall. One suggestion, replace that commander's cupola, as the Dragon piece is awful. OKB makes a really nice set of them, that will really make a difference.

I also like how you roughened up the rolled steel on the side.

My only other suggestion is that the brass wire used on the grab handles maybe slightly out of scale. Not sure from the photos.

My Panther is now ready tio paint.

The opening of the hatches was not easy, I hope that the final result will suit you.

Fantastic work in bringing this vehicle to such a specification.

I am looking forward to the finished article.

Best wishes,

Many thanks all

No great progress at the moment but the primer (Mr. Surfacer) has been realized.

After several tries, the figure is ready to take place at the rear of the turret.

Finally, start work on the sidecar.

Sorry for the pictures, I will try the same ones with more lighting.

While waiting to attack the painting of the Panther, I got on the motorbike!

A bit of detailing to try to make it even more beautiful but it is almost enough to itself as a secondary vehicle of a diorama. I still have the side to detail.

Wow, thats what people are refering to when they talk about "detailing a kit"?!

Excellent work on the Panther and an incredible amount of detail you added to this Zündapp Gespann from Preiser! :yeah:

Will follow this WIP with great pleasure.

Happy Modeling!
