Carentan 1944

Posted by diomichi on 15 Jul 2018, 08:54

Hello Guys,

after some time of absence, I will show you some snap shots of my nearly finished new diorama.
I think you know the historical pictures of this scene, just the Priest is still missing. The tank is finished too and will be placed in the forground. Ok, here are the pictures. Hope you like it. Thanks for watching.
Cheers
Michel

Fantastic work. I think you have really captured the 'feel' of the thing here"

Rings back of the Band of Brothers, brilliant.

The buildings are superb especially with the French adverts. Can I ask where you got them from?

Best wishes,

Chris

Very impressive. The figures look great, so do the rubble and vegitation. I like the buckled roller shutter.

Yes, a very impressive Dio.
There is so much detail and love into each part.
The small impacts in the wall. The dirt all around. The cables and so on and on.
Like the butterfly.

@ Chris: Thanks for your comment. The advertising " BYRHH" is a copy made on the PC and applied on the wall with Photo Transfer Potch. The same for the Citroen road signs, all made on the PC and print in color at a copy shop.
@ Graeme: Nice to hear, that you like it. I made the roller shutter from aluminium foil.
@ Wiking: Thanks for your kind words. I think you have sharp eyes!!!
@ Bluefalchion: Thanks for your comment. Some figures are from TQD, others on the Kübel are resin copies from HAT Tank Riders, reworked with new heads and some legs etc. Most figures are based on relaxed figures from the spare box, havily reworked with new heads and Magic Sculp. Last but not least some figures, especialy on the Priest, are Milicast figures, a little bit changed. Figures from AB are not used.
Cheers

I was at Dead Mens Corner and in St.Mere Eglise yesterday. So it is all near Carentan. It was just a weekend trip, but I can assure you: They cleaned it all up. ;-)

thanks for looking and posting comments. Here are some snap shots with the Priest and final shots with the base. More pictures will follow in the gallery, if I have a little more time.
