Austrian Hussars

Posted by FredG on 19 Mar 2018, 20:20

I've returned from a week in the frozen north to the frozen midlands and I'm back with my paint brushes.

A nice little band of Hussars for me to have fun with. Once again they're Newline 20mm.

The most difficult bit with these is....

There's more Austro-Hungarian cavalry to follow on the five year plan BB.

I think I'm fnished with the horses. They have their metal bits now.

The figures are coming along. There's a lot of detail so it's little sections at a time.

MrsG has already been informed that she may need to wear ear plugs when I get to the braiding on the dolman and pelisse. There's quite a lot of it
Who'd have thought there'd be so much on Hungarian Hussars eh?

Almost ready to start basing. I've applied the braid, now it's buttons, a bit of touching up and the oak leaves to sort.

The braiding isn't perfect but it'll do me.

The crimson parade breeches would have given them some punch but campaign overalls it is in this case.

Oh yes, MrsG was amazed that she didn't need to insert ear plugs.
