Modern - Prototyp TPz Fuchs 8x8 in "Abandoned project" - DE

Posted by Hellboy on 07 Mar 2018, 19:04

New project pictures …

„Abandoned project“

When the Fuchs was developed in the drive form 6x6, also prototypes of the Fuchs in the drive form 4x4 and 8x8 were built. At least one prototype of the Transportpanzer (TPz) Fuchs 8x8 (wheeled armoured personnel carriers / wheeled APC) was built. However, there was no serial production of this variant.

This prototype was later rebuilt into a Radschützenpanzer Fuchs 8x8 (wheeled infantry fighting vehicles / wheeled IFV). It was possible to pick up a turret with a 25 mm automatic cannon. Also this variant was not accepted by the market and it came also in this case to no series production. After that, the project Fuchs 8x8 was abandoned.

The photos show the variant Transportpanzer (TPz) Fuchs 8x8 (wheeled APC).

The project is far from over. A diorama is planned. Maybe it will be a junkyard for armored vehicles. We will see ... let us surprise ourselves! ;-) The project will take a lot of time and work. But I'm really looking forward to the next steps. More photos will follow!

Have fun. :-D

:yeah: :yeah: :yeah:
Very good work Frank. It is a great assembly, and the paint has been very good, normaly with those large vehicles and of a single color I am afraid of falling into a monotonous painting, but you give it different tonalities and subtle wear that makes a big difference .
The dust and that canvas upI like them very much .

santifernandez, Michael, MABO and Carlos, thank you for your kind comment !!! Of course, I am very pleased that you like the TPz Fuchs 8x8. Thank you also for the likes! :-D

It was a long way. Years ago I saw a photo of this vehicle on the internet. The picture was blurry, out of focus and very small. But it was very clear, it is a Fuchs with 4 axes! I immediately fell in love with this vehicle and wanted to build it as a model. Then I could not find the photo again :( .... then the search began.

Today I finished the model and have a lot of information about this rare vehicle. I'm really happy about that! All that is missing now are matching figures and a wooden base. I am very curious how it goes on ... And I'm looking forward to further work on this project. :-D

I can only agree with the words from Carlos! And painting vehicles isn't my strongest point (Do I have strong points?? :eh: ). You did a fantastic job so far Frank! Can't wait to see the progress on the diorama!

I know two of them:
You get a monthly birthday. I know no one else with that.
And further more Kesko wrote at 08. Feb, 2018:

Kekso, Peter and Wiking, thank you for your friendly comments. It's nice that you like the Fuchs 8x8. Let's see how the project evolves. I am very curious! :-D

As Wiking wrote, I did not quite finish cleaning the vehicle before the photo shoot. Unfortunately, I left the cleaning cloth on the Fuchs. I have to apologize to you for the carelessness! It happens just when one is getting older ... ;-) ;-) ;-)
