Work in Progress

Kirkholm 1605

Posted by Traveller1865 on 17 Feb 2018, 18:45

Some work in progress of my recreation of the famous Swedish defeat against Sigismund's army at Kirkholm in Latvia in the year 1605. Figures are Mars copies of Revell's Swedish 30 year War cavalry and Zvezda's Polish Winged Hussars, the hussars had a different look in 1605 but I'm taking some liberties here. Gonna add the infantry later on, but for now enjoy a Swedish suicidal charge against the famous Hussars!

I agree. But pity that all photos are taken from almost the same position.

The bright light in the eyes I found most distracting.

Yeah sorry about that, I did take try to take photos from other angles but somehow the camera switched to video instead so I ended up with lots of small videoclips, then the whole setup fell apart.

However now it is up and running again so I'll show off my newly aquired terrain mat, if anyone have a suggestion on how to make the figures stand up on fur mats please let me know, the only solution I have so far is to place a pin underneath the figure's base, and have a piece of cardboard underneath the mat, then pierce through the mat, but it's not a stable solution and take much time. I guess there's no other option.

Some artillery for my 17th century projects, figures and cannons are ACTA and Mars copies of Revell's Imperial artillery.

This is really impressive sight. So many great painted figures. The mass scenes are great.

The addition of the fur and that super backdrop have transformed your pictures. The horizon seemlessly blends in.

Brilliant stuff, well done.

Best wishes,

Chris

I don't know will this work but here we go. When I made a diorama, I sprayed a hair spray over the grass two or tree times. Than I putted just a little drop of super glue on figures feet and only putted it there. After a couple of minutes and the figure is rocky solid glued.
