Work in Progress

Austrian Landwehr

I was finished earlier than usual with the Siege Mortars being completed and these little chappies were shouting at me from the top of my printer so,,,,,,,,,,, out came the files. Now they're primed and ready to go.
They're 20mm Newline Designs again (ToneTW posted a set not long ago) so should be fun to paint.

I'm unsure whether to have the uniforms of two different regiments or keep them all the same. A night's sleep will sort that out :-D

The night's sleep sorted out whether I opted for one or two uniforms. I'm doing three :-D

I've started throwing some paint at them.

The blues need their cross straps, then I'll tidy them all up a bit. before continuing

Painting straps first is a bit unusual for my way of painting figures. Not that it is wrong or that my way is better. Figures looks nice and I will follow this topic with pleasure.

In only one set are the backpack straps the same colour as the cross-straps. The backpack straps overlap the cross-straps so the cross-straps have to be painted first.

These are really strapping fellows. :eh:

More progress in an unorthodox manner.

I like unorthodox painting! And unusual figures - these are really nice.

Keep going - I'm looking forward to seeing the three different types.

Looks like an awful lot of dedicated beer drinking has reluctantly been undertaken to provide those bottle tops. 8)

All bottle tops were gratefully donated by a bar in Scotland. I had nothing to do with the consumption of the liquids contained by them.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;-)

I've started basing them and they are awaiting the arrival of their front ranks.

This is how they stand at present. Note some have travelled much further than others :-D

I'll finish off the basing on these and get the front ranks done as soon as I have them.

The front ranks are getting there.

Just a few bits and pieces and the final washes to do. Then it's just a matter of basing.
