I've had them for about 8 years Graeme so the where and who is an unknown.
As for scale and calibre this is one I played with way back then, I altered the base and added four handles the figures are 1.72

Image

Edit I found them. They're 28mm scale but I think they fit with 1.72 OK, if not as a Coehorn ,then as a Royal

I must get around to getting the two 10" mortars too :P

Some of the planned crews, these are 20mm Newline.

Image

It's looking like this little scene is getting a bit bigger than I originally intended :-D

I've cleaned of these and some plastics (1/72 Revell) now I need to get a bit of drilling done and try to improve the plastics a little.

Things keep gathering with this little lot.

It will definitely finish up a bit more complicated than originally planned.

Fear not, there's one in the bag for impaling

I think I've gathered together all the figures I need for this project.

There is the obligatory impalement too ;-)

Once the Dragoons clear the table I'll get a start on the emplacement and apply a bit of paint.

Something has to be done with them. :-D

That set has some quite handy accessories in it. I'll be using a couple of buckets etc :yeah:

Think I remember there were some bucket in the old Airfix-set too. Well, not in the old one I had as a kid, but the newer ones I bought as a grown-up.

The Dragoons have charged off after d'Erlon's Corps so the table is free.

All primed and painting has commenced

I got out the big axe and added some logs ( cocktail stick) to the front of the field piece emplacement. That's looking ok I think. A green wash helped the gabions look more like they were made from live wood.

Image

I threw a bit of black at the gun carriage and the wagon so they're close to finished. We don't want them too tidy do we.

Image

The horse team I think are finished with paint, I quite like the look of them. I just need to connect them up to the wagon and get the Drivers painted.

I wasn't finished with the horses after all. I'd missed the blanket roll straps and the metal work on the harnesses. They look much better now.

Image

The figures are progressing nicely. At least I got the cross-straps on, still a lot to do on them though.

Image

Image

I had to remove the plastic elevation screw on the field piece, so a 1mm drill made the hole and added a short length of wire, the replacement brass barrel sits much better. I finished off the alteration to the emplacement and it has a base brown coat on the new logs.

I gathered together just a few accessories and they've been painted too.

Image

The wash on the sacks should fully dry to a matt finish.

I was quite pleased with the chickens, considering their size. I think a few goats would be overkill though. :P
